Greenpeace members staged a funeral in London on December 18 for Atlantic cod. The mock procession was a protest against beam-trawling, a fishing method the group says results in significant bycatch.

The Greenpeace event also denounced European fishing quotas, which the group says are too high and will accelerate the demise of the once abundant Atlantic cod.
