Storks search for a place to roost near the northern Israeli city of Hadera on Wednesday, December 13. About 500 million birds fly over the Holy Land during their annual migrations, including roughly nine thousand aquatic birds known as cormorants that take refuge in Israel from the harsh winter of their native Ukraine.
