Displaying both its electrifying colors and its dramatic dorsal display, the scientists surveying Bird's Head Seascape were unable to miss this previously undocumented flasher wrasse.

Wrasses are cousins to the parrotfish and damselfish, many of which change color and even sex as they mature.
