In the afternoon of my second day I noted a beautiful composition that would be favored by the eastern light of sunrise. After camping not too far away and awaking before dawn in 00F [-180C] temperatures, I returned to the rim with tripod and Canon 5D camera. I then rendered this image just before the sun appeared using a graduated neutral filter to control the exposure.
