August 4, 2006—As most pet store employees know, mice are a common food for a variety of snakes. But when you're an anaconda—tipping the scales at more than 550 pounds (250 kilograms)—you need to supersize your rodent meal.

Watch as a female anaconda prepares to mate by hunting down one last snack: a capybara, the world's largest rodent.
