National Cherry Blossom Fest Honors Japanese Culture

Crowds stream to and from the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C., to view the blooming cherry blossom trees. More than a million visitors are expected in the U.S. capital during the 2006 National Cherry Blossom Festival, which runs from March 25 to April 9.

This year's festival marks the 94th anniversary of the arrival of the cherry trees, a gift from the people of Tokyo as a token of friendship.
