Video: Nepal's Controversial King Gives Up Power

April 28, 2006—King Gyanendra of Nepal grabbed headlines last year when he broke free of his figurehead role and seized control of the Himalayan nation.

On April 24, after weeks of demonstrations in the capital of Kathmandu (see map), the king gave into protesters' demands and handed power back to the elected parliament, which met today for the first time in four years.
