TIV: A Tornado-Hunting Armored Car

The Tornado Intercepting Vehicle, or TIV, sits parked in a field at sunset. Filmmaker Sean Casey designed the TIV to ride low to the ground so that it would be difficult for the storm's winds to lift.

According to meteorologist Josh Wurman, who accompanied Casey on his tornado search, the TIV is "aesthetically ugly, but functionally its beautiful."
