Shriveled and sooty looking, a pair of lungs shows the effects of prolonged smoking. Wrapped around the owner's heart, the lungs have been visibly blackened by tars and chemicals in cigarettes. By contrast, healthy lungs appear pinkish and inflated.

These preserved lungs are among 260 body parts on display in the "Bodies" exhibition at Tampa, Florida's Museum of Science and Industry through February 26, 2006.
