An artist's reconstruction shows an adult Massospondylus carinatus, a 16-foot (5-meter), herbivorous prosauropod dinosaur. Prosauropods were likely ancestors of sauropods. The largest terrestrial animals ever known, sauropods were long-necked, plant-eating dinosaurs that walked on all fours.
