Panamanian Border Police are fighting the twin scourges of Colombian guerillas and narco-traffickers who regularly seek refuge in the jungles of the Darien Gap. An elite unit, the Border Police have enjoyed success recently with the seizure of major quantities of cocaine being shipped through the Darien and the capture of the traffickers themselves.
