Invasive Species in the United States

Acting on a tip from levee maintenance workers, Everglades National Park staff removed eight large Burmese pythons from within the Florida park along a canal during late January and March 2004. This photo shows six pythons captured in just one day. The snakes were observed basking and using burrows for cover in a levee.
