The humerus of a 365-million-year-old tetrapod (a four-limbed, backboned animal), found in Pennsylvania, shows that the animal could support the front end of its body in a low, wide stance, according to scientists. The scientists say that this posture reflects an intermediate stage in the evolution of limbs from fish fins.
