The Mekong giant catfish has been re-listed by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) as Critically Endangered because we have new information that indicates that populations of the fish have declined significantly over the past several years. Unfortunately, unless additional steps are taken to save the species, I believe that the Mekong giant catfish will eventually disappear from the Mekong River.
