"Seeing a white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) breaching clean out of the water is one of the most amazing experiences in nature. The power and presence of these animals is awesome. The best time to experience this is in mid-winter at sunrise in False Bay, near Cape Town. Among the white sharks favorite prey is the Cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus). As seals are far more agile than white sharks and will usually escape if they spot the shark in time, the shark relies on surprise in the form of these explosive attacks."
