Matthew Henson became Peary's most trusted Arctic companion. Greenlanders admired him for his hunting and sled-driving skills, and ability to speak the local language. Henson wears a Greenlander-style hooded jacket with a thick fur collar. Peary said he was more of an Eskimo than some of them.
