"Meltwater Descending Glacial Summits, Wood River Mountains" Sport fishermen and native people sometimes clash over the salmon. The Yup'ik Eskimos, for example, consider catching and releasing fish for sport an abusive act, rather than an effective conservation policy. They believe that salmon are noble creatures that deserve respect. Recently, efforts have been made to help the two groups learn about and live with each other.
