Although leopard tracks appeared in many places along the Megatransect walk through Africa's central forests, no leopard was ever encountered by expedition leader J. Michael Fay or photographer Michael "Nick" Nichols; this image was made by a remote camera. Images of Gabon's wildlife helped persuade its president to create new national parks instead of allowing the land to be logged.
